The National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) Karachi has announced multiple full-time training opportunities in its Medical Education Department for the year 2025. Applications are invited for several fellowship and postgraduate trainee positions across various specialized departments including Adult Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac Imaging, Cardiac Surgery, Paediatric Cardiology, Critical Care Medicine, Anesthesia, Paeds Cardiac ICU, Paediatric and Congenital Cardiac Surgery, and Cardiac Emergency. Requirements

• In the Department of Adult Cardiology, candidates can apply as Clinical Fellows or FCPS Postgraduate Trainees, with the eligibility based on completion of FCPS Cardiology training or FCPS Part I with Intermediate Module (IMM) training. The Department of Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Imaging are offering Post Fellowship training to FCPS Cardiology qualified candidates, each with a two-year program. For the Department of Cardiac Surgery, the positions include Post Fellow, Clinical Fellow, and FCPS Postgraduate Trainee, with requirements ranging from completed FCPS Cardiac Surgery training to general surgery IMM training. Similarly, the Department of Paediatric Cardiology offers positions for both Post Fellow and Clinical Fellow with qualifications in Paediatric Medicine. Critical Care Medicine has openings for both Post Fellow and Clinical Fellow roles, requiring FCPS qualifications or training in General Medicine, Cardiology, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Pulmonology, or Nephrology. The Department of Anesthesia is offering four types of roles including Post Fellow CTA, FCPS CTA, FCPS Postgraduate Trainee, and Clinical Fellow, targeting candidates with varying levels of FCPS or MCPS Anesthesia training. The Paeds Cardiac ICU is looking for Clinical Fellows who have completed training in FCPS or MD Paeds Medicine. For those specializing in pediatric surgical interventions, the Department of Paediatric and Congenital Cardiac Surgery is offering both Post Fellowship and Clinical Fellowship roles to those who are FCPS Cardiac Surgery qualified. Lastly, the Department of Cardiac Emergency invites Clinical Fellows who have completed training in Cardiology or Emergency Medicine.
