Description
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), working under the Prime Minister’s Office, has announced multiple contractual vacancies for dynamic and qualified individuals seeking to contribute toward disaster risk management in Pakistan. These positions, purely on a lump-sum package basis for an initial period of 24 months (extendable as required), are open on merit and cover a range of technical domains such as GIS Development, Hydromet, Risk Assessment, Environmental Science, Remote Sensing, Spatial Analysis, and Coordination roles. The announcement reflects NDMA’s commitment to boosting its technical capacity, particularly in developing web-based GIS tools, enhancing early-warning systems, improving risk modelling, and strengthening coordination within the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC).
Requirements
- Positions offered include Deputy Manager (GIS Development), Assistant Managers across specialized fields, and an Assistant (NEOC Coordination). Depending on the role, applicants must possess a BS/BE or relevant Master’s degree in disciplines such as Computer Science, GIS, Remote Sensing, Space Sciences, Environment Sciences, or Civil/Disaster Management, with experience requirements ranging from entry-level to mid-career. Successful candidates will be responsible for developing GIS applications, processing meteorological and satellite data, conducting hazard and risk assessments, monitoring environmental parameters, and facilitating operational coordination during emergencies. The maximum age limits vary by post, and selected candidates must serve a minimum of 18 months as per departmental requirements.
