The Government of Sindh, Home Department, is offering a lucrative and career-defining opportunity for experienced professionals to lead one of the most prestigious public safety projects—Karachi Safe City Project. The department invites applications for the position of Project Director, a contractual role based in Karachi, Sindh, for an initial period of two years, extendable based on performance and project requirements. This role is ideal for highly qualified individuals who possess extensive experience in mega project execution, particularly within the realms of urban safety, surveillance, and public sector governance. As the Project Director, you will be the chief strategist, responsible for overseeing all phases of the Karachi Safe City Project. Your key responsibilities include supervising project schedules, ensuring timely implementation of deliverables, maintaining quality control, and coordinating with consultants, stakeholders, and executive agencies. The role demands robust leadership in risk management, conflict resolution, legal compliance, and documentation. You will also be responsible for managing project portfolios, preparing detailed reports, conducting presentations, and aligning the project goals with organizational priorities to ensure transparency and timely delivery. This pivotal position requires proactive engagement with the Home Department and timely communication on any emerging issues or conflicts.

Requirements

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in one of the following disciplines: Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, Information Security, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Information Technology (IT), Law, Public Administration, Business Administration, International Security, or Cybersecurity. Degrees must be from HEC-recognized national or international universities (minimum 16 years of education). Additional experience in mega project execution will be considered a valuable asset. Age Limit The applicant must not exceed 55 years of age. Experience Requirements A minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in the public sector or project management. Strong familiarity with urban safety and smart city projects. Hands-on experience in mega project oversight, including timely execution and implementation. Specialized Skills Excellent leadership, team-building, negotiation, and communication skills. In-depth understanding of Government Rules, especially the Sindh Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (SPPRA) and Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) guidelines. Proven ability to prepare and deliver project presentations, case studies, and compliance reports. Comprehensive knowledge of compliance, arbitration laws, and relevant procurement and legal practices.
